Windfury Set

TGIF!  I have a lack of Dwarf outfits, so I have been working on one for my Enhancement Shaman, Ahyzrael.  I wanted to used something with feathers and the molten-looking kilt from the Shaman Tiers and recolors.  The other requirement was an outfit with dual maces, since Dwarves have a racial for that.

I think it turned out quite well!  I like the combination of the blueish-grey and the fiery orange (that goes so well with her hair).

<cry>

Ironeffy has died.

Teldrassil, Azuremyst and Bloodmyst Isles, Westfall, Redridge Mountains… all conquered.  Level 21 became 22 and 23 and 24 and even 25 with no real issue – some close calls, but Ironeffy battled, bandaged and regenerated through.  Duskwood was a mixture of green and yellow mobs, but Ironeffy was doing great and leveling fast.

Then, there was Marus, the Pack Leader.  He hits hard and he Shadowsteps – a lot.  I used everything available to Ironeffy, I even Gouge-stunned Marus to bandage myself.  But in the end, Ironeffy hit the ground, never to be an Ironman.

RIP Ironeffy.

The one consolation - we both died simultaneously. <sigh>

DK – Take Two

There was something just not sitting with me right about the Plaguebringer Set.  So I had to give it a second try.  Loving this set already.  And I added a dual wield option with the Warp-Storm Warblade, which goes well with the green-purple combo in the Symbolic Set.

Also, I am including screenshots of the Frostblade Set with dual wielded Rimefang’s Claws, which I mentioned in the original post, but did not have screenshots of at the time.

I am so glad I downloaded MogIt.  It gives me a simple background that does not detract from the outfit.  As I put the outfits together, I will try and post some “action” shots.

I could hold these back no longer!

The other night, I came up with the idea to make a set for each Death Knight spec.  Now, I can really only play a DK as Blood, I am awful at DPS’ing on a DK.  So the red set is what I am currently finishing up on her.  The Frostblade Set turned out well, but I am still not 100% happy with the Plaguebringer.  So I may make some changes to that one.

Note: It was brought to my attention by a friend that the Acherus Knight’s Girdle has no skin, and therefore appears as your character is wearing no belt.  Yay!  Invisible belt!  Too bad it is only available to Death Knights.

Headline: Ironeffy Reaches Level 20! Can She Keep it Up?

I was pretty unmotivated yesterday other than my goal to get Ironeffy to Level 20 without dying.

I hit Level 10, and did not think to take a screenshot until after the fact.  (And no I am not restarting her to get that shot!)  ;)   After hitting Level 10, I finished up Teldrassil, and headed over to Azuremyst Isle – despite it not being high on my list of favorite leveling zones.  (Perhaps because I have made “too many” Draenei?  No such thing!)

One thing I have not been able to determine for sure as far as the Ironman rules go is the use of health pots.  I have not used one, for fear it is against the rules.  I have been sticking to bandages and HP5 vendor food between mobs.  But health pots are white, and they do not provide any buffs.  <shrug>

About the time I got to Bloodmyst Isle, I started to realize that my Hit (well lack thereof) was starting to present an issue.  Ironeffy misses… a lot.  It does not quite seem right, as Hit on items is nearly nonexistent at my current level.  Sometimes, I level with BoAs, but many times I do not (on servers other than my main).

Woot! 100 Quests!

One thing that I noticed and could not just go by without commenting on was the Triumvirate of the Hand in Blood Watch.  These guys are all wearing different colors of a set I happen to be quite fond of.

The black/white set and the black/blue set are both available through Stratholme and Scholomance for the most part.  The gorgeous green/gold set is only available as a few pieces, all of which come from AQ.  I would love to have that green/gold set!  There is also a beautiful black/red chestpiece that I would not mind having, and am interested in creating an outfit around.  :)

Deathbone Guardian Set

The Triumvirate of the Hand

I just have to say – Vindicator Awesome is my new favorite name.  Too bad I did not get his shot a little bigger.

It was getting on towards 11pm, and I was starting to get nervous about finishing up to Level 20.  But I was determined.  That darn Wyrmscar Island and its undead whelplings!  Then, it was the Murlocs – no, do not gang up on me!  Then, it was Demolitionist Legoso – who thought it a swell idea to pull half the Blood Elf camp, including the rare assassin chick.  I could not help it, I ran away and left Legoso to his fate.  ><

But I lived to tell the tale of my cowardice.

I finally decided the quests remaining on Bloodmyst Isle were too scary, and I got on the boat and went to Darkshore.  I was literally about 5% from Level 20, so I explored and turned in a quest to Malfurion, and…

Ding! Yay! Level 20!

I headed to Darnassus to get a mount!

Then, I realized I did not have enough money!  Even after pickpocketing everyone I could from the time I could train it.  :(   So I threw a few green pieces of armor and some Small Eggs on the AH, bought the next level of white armor available to me and logged off.  Still crossing my fingers that something sold.

Now, I have a kind of embarrassing confession.  I was previously aware that Draenei cannot be Rogues, but I had expected there would still be a Rogue trainer somwehere on Bloodmyst Isle.  No beans.  So from Level 12 to 19.9, I did not train anything.  There was a fair amount of swearing when I trained in Darnassus and realized I had had Recuperate available to me for some time.  :/

Oh well!  No deaths yet!

Keep it up, Ironeffy!

Still <flex>ing

Note: The screenshots in this post were all taken on my laptop (which has an 11″ screen but still weighs as much as a normal size laptop, go figure), so they may look different than usual.

Ironeffy, the Iron(wo)man

For a few weeks now, I have seen a lot of bloggers talking about the WoW Ironman Challenge.  In fact, I even saw an article about it on the Blizzard page.  So far, I have convinced myself that the Ironman challenge does not fit into my current list of goals, which mostly consist of working on my character stories, creating more outfits and leveling for the 2012 in 2012 Challenge.

But yesterday, the curiosity won out.  I rolled some Random Integers, and had a character.

Faction (random 2):

  • 1 – Alliance
  • 2 – Horde

Race  (random 6):

  • 1 – Human/Orc
  • 2 – Dwarf/Undead
  • 3 – Night Elf/Tauren
  • 4 – Gnome/Troll
  • 5 – Draenei/Blood Elf
  • 6 – Worgen/Goblin

Class (random 9):

  • 1 – Warrior
  • 2 – Paladin
  • 3 – Hunter
  • 4 – Rogue
  • 5 – Priest
  • 6 – Shaman
  • 7 – Mage
  • 8 – Warlock
  • 9 – Druid

Gender (random 2):

  • 1 – Male
  • 2 – Female

In all honesty, it first wanted me to make my Night Elf a Warlock, and since Blizzard does not agree, I rerolled that one and got Rogue.

And so was born - Ironeffy!

I have never had much problem getting to Level 10 without much to go on – white/grey items, no talents, etc.  Beyond that, I am nervous.

But Ironeffy thinks she is up to the Challenge!

<flex>

Last night, I got her to Level 7.  Ironeffy already had her first brush with death from Uruson, but she triumphed!

I have… a plan!  I plan to do all of Teldrassil, then all of Azuremyst/Bloodmyst Isle <shudder>, then possibly all of Elwynn Forest, before I continue on to the next level of questing.  The way I figure it, most of Ironeffy’s XP is going to have to come from completing quests, and the lower the mobs, the more safely I will complete them.

Sounds good in theory, eh?

Sunwalker Set

TGIF and happy Outfit Friday!

I am very proud of this outfit, but I imagine it will be quite difficult for me to collect all the pieces, as this is for my Tauren Paladin on Eonar, Vianessa.  Whereas I have quite a collection of outfit pieces on Elune, Vianessa is just about on her own.  Luckily, I have been making some progress in becoming financially stable on a different server, and Horde-side at that.  It is a little strange, since Eonar was where I raided on Effy for a while.

Vianessa’s outfit is a combination of Tier, crafted, BoE’s and quest items.

I like the gold and silver combination and I think they fit a Paladin well – and they look good on a Tauren to boot.  :)   Also, I am a firm fan of sword and board.  Perhaps a hammer and axe alternative would be a good idea, but I prefer a sword!
